A Re-orientation of School-Based Management
Mambaling National High School conducted a re-orientation of School-Based Management (SBM), pursuant to DepEd Order No. 83, s. 2012 which was issued to further strengthen the School-Based Management (SBM) practice and re-emphasize on the centrality of the learners and the involvement of the relevant community basic education delivery.
SBM 2022 Activities
This activity is a preparation for SBM 2022 activities in the Division of Cebu City.
- February to March 2022 : Benchmarking on SBM Performing Schools
- April 2022 : SBM Self-Assessment
- May - July 2022 : Validation and Technical Assistance (TA) Provision
- June - Sep 2022 : Adjustment and Finalization of Reports
- October 2022 : SBM Outstanding Achievement Rewards (SOAR)
It was attended by all (41) teachers headed by the school principal, Mrs. Emily V. Baranggot. The chairman of each SBM Dimension discussed the level of practice with its corresponding Means of Verification (MOVs) to inform everyone to prepare, gather, and collect the necessary MOVs. Since the school has organized SBM teams and committees, delineation of roles and functions follows.
What is DepEd SBM?
School-Based Management is a management framework which is school-based, student-centered, and quality-focused to provide schools with enhanced flexibility and autonomy in managing their own operation and resources according to the needs of their students.
Purpose of SBM
The following are the purposes of SBM based on DepEd Order No. 83, s. 2012:
- Determine the level of SBM practices of the schools for profiling
- Provide the schools a sound basis on which to establish its plan action.
- Identify technical assistance needs
- Categorize notable practices for recognition and recommendation for benchmarking
Six Dimensions of SBM
The six dimensions are the bases of the school performance on validated SBM practices. Chairman of each dimension delivered a talk about the level of practices and the required MOVs.
